The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has vowed to ensure victims of extra-judicial killings at the Kenyan Coast get justice.

Speaking when he graced the official opening of Uhaki Na Usawa Social Justice Centre at Migadini in Changamwe, Mombasa Haji said his office has been working together with that of the Inspector General of Police, IPOA and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, to come up with a strategy on dealing with such cases.

DPP Noordin Haji also listened to a Dunga Unuse slum-dweller Florence Awuor during the official launch on Wednesday.

On his part, Haki Africa Executive Director Hussein Khalid called for the immediate prosecution of officers linked to the extra-judicial killings and enforced disappearances, saying such incidents must stop.

First of its kind to be opened in Mombasa, Khalid said the Social Justice Centre will help residents of Mombasa and victims of various human right violations get justice.

Also present was Haki Africa Directors Yusuf Aboubakar and Dr. Najya Mohammed, Huria Executive Director Yusuf Lule, security agents from Changamwe constituency and locals.
