The two are said to have been walking at the trading centre along the Eldoret-Malaba highway when locals spotted them.

According to Eldoret West OCPD Zachary Bitok, military police intervened and rescued the two before they were caught by locals.

Speaking to the press, Bitok said the police are investigating the circumstances under which the two individuals who hold Pakistan passports were in the country.

"They were walking near Maili Tisa and wananchi were pursuing them. They were not able to speak in the local language and it's like the locals wanted to lynch them but the military police intervened," said the OCPD.

They are currently being held up at the Central Police station in Eldoret town.

"Police officers are currently talking to them and trying to establish who they are and what their mission is here in Eldoret. We don't want to speculate as at now. Let's give the police officers time so that they find out who these people are," noted Bitok.
