Writing on Twitter on Thursday, the lawyer held the view that there was no law in the books governing the replacement of an impeached county boss.

He said that James Nyoro can be sworn in by anyone as governor.

"There is no law on swearing Deputy Governor replacing an Impeached Governor. In 1923, when US VP Calvin Coolidge was informed of sudden death of Pres. Warren G Harding, his father swore him immediately as President. James Nyoro can be sworn by anyone & ASAP as Kiambu Governor, " Donald Kipkorir wrote in his Thursday tweet.

There is uncertainty on whether the deputy governor can be sworn in a day after the impeachment of hisboss.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator KIpchumba Murkomen earlier in the day contended that the Kiambu deputy governor cannot be sworn in until after 10 days have elapsed.

"A High Court Judge cannot preside over swearing in of DG of Kiambu to be a Governor before 10 days are over and before they Gazette the date, time and place for conducting the swearing in Ceremony. But you know what ? Everything is working like a clock in the new Kenya, " Murkomen wrote.
