The Heart for Change CEO Lilian Marwa while speaking in Kisii town on Tuesday said the peaceful demos will start from Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue to Kisii County Commissioner's office.

Marwa said they are aggrieved by the high rate of defilement in the area.

"The rate at which young girls are being defiled in Kisii is high standing at 23% while the national level stands at 17%. It is high time Kisii residents should wake up to ensure young girls being defiled and boys being molested get justice," said Marwa.

She added: "On Thursday,  August 8,  2019, we will have a peaceful protest in Kisii and our end destination will be at the County Commissioner's office."

She said the demonstrations are meant to create awareness and encourage parents to the victims to push for justice.

"I call upon everyone to join us in this peaceful walk for the sake of the bright future of the young generation. We will raise our grievances to the commissioner's office so that cases of defilement of girls and molestation of boys be dealt with accordingly," she stated.

The former Kisii County Woman Representative said the demonstrations have nothing to do with politics.
