Several people were disembarked from the Silverstone aircraft on Friday when the plane skidded from the runaway, injuring two people in the process.

Mrs Momanyi, who is serving her first term, was among those who were evacuated from the ill fated aircraft and subsequently admitted at Nairobi Hospital.

Until now, the Kenya Civil Aviations Authority is yet to give reasons behind the accident, the first within the vicinity of the busy Nairobi Airport.

Her daughter, Deborah Momanyi said the MP is set to leave the hospital on Saturday, adding that she was only injured on one of her hands.

"She is stable and will leave Nairobi Hospital today. She had an injury on one of her arm but she has been stabilised by the doctors," said Ms Momanyi.

She added: "We are thankful that emergency team was deployed in time to save the situation which would have been dire at that time within the airport."

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday lauded the emergency teams for quick response that saw passengers quickly evacuated from the aircraft.

Governor John Nyagarama, Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose and Nyamira County minister for Health Douglas Bosire were among those who visited Mrs Momanyi at the hospital.

The firebrand Woman Representative ditched Tanga Tanga brigade in June this year before joining a team under Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i.
