Kivaa Ward Member of County Assembly Justus Kiteng'u has disclosed that Muthama has for long tried to impose his rules on the Wiper party.
Speaking on Saturday, Kiteng'u said that in 2013 Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka fronted Dr Alfred Mutua for Machakos gubernatorial race but instead Muthama brought in Wavinya Ndeti.
Wavinya went ahead to lose to Governor Mutua despite petitions about the win. Since then Muthama never supported Mutua and didn't stop preaching how bad Mutua.
In 2017 Kalonzo fronted Wavinya for the same seat but Muthama refused and instead brought forward for Machakos deputy governor Benard Kiala as his preferred candidate but later Wavinya was given the Wiper ticket.
However, still, Mutua won the elections on his Maendeleo Chap Chap party.
"Muthama caused the hatred between Kalonzo and Mutua since he preferred Wavinya. In 2017 he changed tune and didn't want Wavinya and instead wanted Kiala. Muthama should stop with his sideshows," said Kiteng'u.
Kiteng'u urged Muthama to hold his horses and follow Kalonzo's decision without fighting him.
He said that Muthama should quit sowing seeds of discord in the party.
His sentiments come at a time when the political heat in the region in high.
Kalonzo and Muthama seem to have locked horns one which direction the community should take.
Trouble began after Kalonzo declared that he was fully behind President Uhuru Kenyatta even after 2022.
His utterance didn't go well with Muthama who said Kalonzo wasn't serious about the presidency despite all the time and effort spent on him.
Muthama's utterance drew fire from Wiper as some of the leaders called for his ouster from the party if he wasn't satisfied with the party's decision.
