The Judiciary has announced that Judge John Onyiego will on Thursday preside over the swearing-in of James Nyoro as the new Kiambu Governor.
This follows Ferdinand Waititu's impeachment on Wednesday by the Senate.
The county boss had spiritedly attempted to clear his name from graft claims but failed. The Senate decided to uphold the decision by Kiambu County Assembly to impeach the governor.
The embattled ex-governor attributed his woes to his political stand. He pleaded with the Senate to save his career.
"Listen to the facts and evidence but not propaganda. Kiambu is known for serious propagandists. That is the nature of Kiambu," Waititu said.
The counsel for the county assembly (Kiambu) represented by Mungai Njoroge presented evidence to the Senate saying that the govenror had failed when in accountability.
“The evidence that you will hear in the course of today will demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that Gov. Waititu has failed on the account of accountability, political governance...& has done so in a manner that warrants his removal…” said Njoroge.
