Giving him that advice was Ndenderu member of county assembly Solomon Kinuthia, who also filed the impeachment motion against Waititu.

"Secondly, we want to urge him to be humble and not to involve his family in the tendering process (Pili tunataka akuwe mpole na asihusishe familia yake katika kupiga kandarasi hapa ama kupiga zabuni hapa), " the Uthiru MCA said in an exclusive interview with a local television station. (12:30-12:39)

The advice to Nyoro was against the same vices that Ferdinand Waititu is alleged to have engaged in, vices which led to his downfall.

Mr Waititu is counting on the Kenyan courts to save him from impeachment and reversing the Senate's vote that removed him from power.

He is facing corruption-related charges in an ongoing case.

The charges were filed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) after investigations into the governor's affairs were conducted last year.

A court hearing his case had ordered that he does not step in his office until a verdict on the case is reached.
