Osoro said school going children may take advantage of being at home during the holiday to engage in alcohol consumption and illicit sex.

He said parents should be vigilant and sensitize their children on the dangers of drug abuse and engaging in illicit sex.

"Parents do not send your children to visit relatives during this August holiday. Please stay at home with your children and teach them moral values for the sake of making their lives brighter. Sending children to relatives may lead them to engage in drug abuse and engage in illicit sex thus ruining their lives," said the lawmaker.

He further urged parents engaging in the manufacture and selling of illicit brews to stop.

He said the illegal business has made several families poor.

"The making, selling and distribution of illicit brew in South Mugirango should stop because those engaging in the illicit business are poor. Residents need to engage in legal businesses to avoid being in the wrong side of the law," stated Osorowho was speaking at Nyabisase in Boikang'a ward on Saturday.
