Police in Kisii have launched investigations in an incident where a couple from Mwanyakwabara in Bogitaa location, Riana, Bonchari constituency were allegedly involved in the murder of their son before dumping him into the pit latrine.
According to some of the locals interviewed they accused the parents aged (Father38) as well as (Mother30) for having been dumped the poor infant in a suspected ritual killing.
Confirming the incident the area Chief Edward Moenda said the duo conspired to murder their five-year-old son before dumping his body.
“The police arrived in the area on Monday evening after the locals failed to buy the story that the child has been missing before found dead in the pit latrine and the duo are currently in custody as investigations continue,” said Moenda.
The chief further added that early that the preliminary police investigations into the incident indicated that the couple had travelled from Thika town with their deceased infant to their rural home in Kisii two weeks ago for a night stay but left for Nairobi at crack of dawn under suspicious circumstances.
“The parents are currently being held at Gesonso police station as well as with other close relatives have been under interrogations to help the police know the truth,” said Moenda.
