The 30,000 seater facility has been undergoing refurbishment since last year.

So far, only the parking area is nearing completion while the rest of the works still in progress.

Speaking on Thursday, the contractor Chandresh Babariya of Lexis International said Sh400 million is needed to complete the renovation.

He was speaking during an inspection visit by a parliamentary committee.

He, however, said he was is owed about Sh120 million for the work done so far.

“The main challenge has been financial issues but this job can be completed in one or two months depending on the availability of money,” he said.“Only 43 per cent of our proposed Sh400 million budget has been paid,” said Babariya.

“It’s going to be roofed all round, fitted with lifts on the VIP and will be tuned in a way persons with disability can also enjoy the services in all access areas,” he added.
