The incident took place some minutes past midnight.

The two gangsters who wore Administration Police uniform and armed with guns, tied three Hollywood Club watchmen with ropes.

They then started enjoying brandy shots like normal revelers.

“We had closed the club when I heard someone knocking the gate. When I peeped I noticed it was one of our frequent customers, who wanted me to help him with my phone so that he could call his neighbors,” One the watchman who sought anonymity for fear of being attacked said.

“It is then that two armed men who were on AP uniform forced themselves inside, and forced us to lie down. They had guns. They told us to remove one shoe, and our belts but I couldn’t because I was tied, so one of them removed my shoe and belt. They then put a table on top of us, drank beer, and then took seven thousand cash and other electronic equipment,” the man added.

Bahati OCPD Duncan Nguthu, while speaking to this writer on phone, confirmed the incident but downplayed that the gangsters were police officers, saying investigations are underway.

”Am aware of the incident because it was reported to me. However, we are investigating to know who these criminals are. In some instances even our officers’ houses are broken into and their uniforms stolen, and sometimes criminals have their way of obtaining police like clothes therefore we can not rush to say it was police officers”. Nguthu said

Another officer informed this writer that there have been five such cases in Nakuru within a period of one year.
