The Supreme Court ruling on the October 26 repeat election is a clear indication that President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto won in a free and fair manner, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has said. Balala said National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders should accept the Supreme Court’s verdict and assist Uhuru in building the nation. Speaking at the Mama Ngina grounds on Monday, Balala said Uhuru and his deputy were legitimately elected and it was time for the country to move forward. The CS said the ruling has justified his view that there was no election crisis in the country following the nullification of Uhuru’s win in August polls."Uhuru was legitimately elected. Most Kenyans are happy. They want to move on. There is no crisis,” said Balala, as quoted by The Star.He also asked opposition leaders to back President Uhuru as he kicks off his second term in office after his swearing-in which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday next week. Balala also dismissed the push for the secession of the Coast region, terming it ill-driven."The Supreme Court has ruled that Uhuru is the validly elected President of Kenya. There is no secession or any other side business,” he added.
