ODM national treasurer Timothy Bosire says President Uhuru Kenyatta should quit August elections to avoid humiliating defeat.
In just under five years, Kenyatta will be yet again facing opposition leader Raila Odinga in an epic battle scheduled in three weeks time.
“I do not think he should be in this race. His popularity has dwindled even in his perceived strongholds. It will be in his favour to quit avoiding embarrassment,” he said.
Bosire further said: “We have traversed the whole country and the mood for change is inevitable. Jubilee should start packing for his own good.”
Recent opinion polls from various pollsters put Kenyatta at a pole position to win presidency, although the opposition has always denounced the statistics.
The firebrand MP who accompanied NASA leader Raila Odinga also warned that the Gusii community would vote for the opposition, dismissing claims of Jubilee’s inroads.
“I want to assure Kenyans that Kisii is an ODM stronghold. Whoever going around the country propagating propaganda should come and talk to people. We are disinterested in Jubilee,” he said.
