Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has been arrested and taken to DCI for questioning.

This comes after the newly elected MP made remarks many felt were inciteful and could be considered hate speech.

Many leaders from the Jubilee party immediately responded to Owino's remarks by calling for police to arrest him terming his comments  'hate speech'.

During a recent rally in Dagoretti, Babu Owino referred to the President as 'mtoto wa mbwa'.

When asked to apologize for his remarks Owino took to Facebook to shed light on the issue.

The Embakassi MP claimed that his comments were not directed at the President.

As a result his comments have set social media ablaze with protests being reported in Kiambu.
