Most innovative companies in Kenya were yesterday awarded by Think Business Africa in an Investment Awards event held at Radison Blu Hotel in Nairobi.

The firm got huge support the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), Kenya Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Banks and Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA)

“The awards strategic objective is to recognise and reward outstanding performance of companies as reflected in their audited financial statements,” said Think Business Africa in a statement.

The panel was looking on the impact company has had through good corporate, social impact and technological impact.

KenGen scooped the occupational scheme of the year and public sector of the award, with the pension administration award of the year going to Liason Group Limited, Nation Media Group received three awards as follows best-quoted company of the year (main segment) award, sustainable corporate social responsibility award, and most innovative company award.

Britam East Africa scooped 15 awards for its stellar achievements in different categories; Research Team of the Year went to the Genghis Capital Limited.

In this year's awards, PKF Eastern Africa partnered with Think business Africa in the judging process where they oversaw and audited the entire process including the selection of judges. Infotrak Research Kenya was the research partners for the Investment Awards 2017

Political instability in the country has negatively affected the capital markets with most of the investors adopting a wait and see approach.

“Due to uncertainties in the political scenes, capital markets were affected negatively. Most of the investors adopted a wait and see strategy thereby putting on hold deals and transactions” read a statement by the firm.
