The anger of men of God befell one man at his home in Koyamo village Homabay county leading to his death.

The 64-year-old man identified as Charles Oduk was assaulted by the members of the Legio Maria who claimed he is the source of their troubles.

Oduk died on Sunday at RAM Hospital in Kisii after being transferred from Rachuonyo Level Four Hospitals where he was rushed on Thursday last week when the assault occurred.

Area OCPD Patrick Onsando has confirmed that six people have already been arrested in connection with the incident with one of them being Oduk's wife who had invited the worshippers who descended on her husband.

The Officer said the man had claimed they had been having problems with his second wife after she changed from being Catholic a year ago and embraced Legio Maria doctrines.

The worshippers said to be from Dol Kodera and Opok in Rachuonyo South Sub-county Legio Maria churches had gone to Oduk home late evening and found the old man already retired to bed but pressed on with the prayers in the presence of his wife and children.

Oduk was reportedly beaten by the worshippers when he refused to join a prayer session because he does not subscribe to the Legio Maria faith.
