Departing Ulinzi Stars forward Stephen Waruru has been wished well by the club.

Ulinzi's chairman  Lt. Col Eric Oloo confirmed the player's resignation from the Kenya Defense Force (KDF) after he (Waruru) revealed last Saturday that he was quitting the side.

Waruru leaves the Nakuru-based club after nine years of service.

His last match in Ulinzi colours was on the season's finale against Tusker FC where he netted twice to secure a win for his team.

Word has it that he is set to land at either Tusker FC or AFC Leopards who have an international duty next season.

"I can confirm that Waruru has resigned from the force. So it will be upon him to decide whether he will play for Ulinzi Stars as a civilian or move elsewhere. Should he decide to leave then as the chairman I can only wish with him the very best," Oloo said.

"He has been a very diligent servant of the club for the last nine years and the least we can offer such a person is our total support. We wish him the very best wherever he will go and in everything that he will partake in future," Oloo added.
