A Nakuru court on Tuesday fined a driver who was accused of causing death due to careless driving Sh40, 000 or serve a year in jail. 

Yusuf Robert Simba was accused of causing the death of a motorcycle passenger Kelvin Ng'etich and a two-year-old child on August 17 2017 at Chepseon along the Nakuru - Kericho road.

According to the prosecution, Simba was driving his car carelessly when he hit a motorbike that was ferrying the deceased persons.

The court heard that the suspect failed to obey road traffic rules thus causing the accident. 

The court fined Simba after he asked for forgiveness.
