Government Spokesperson Eric Kiraithe has weighed in on the current political state in the country, focusing more on the activities of NASA.

His remarks come a few days to the inauguration of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is set to be sworn in on Tuesday, next week.

It is now the law of the land, meaning that every state organ including the Judiciary, Executive, Legislature, county government, cooperate, citizens, private citizens must comply with the constitution, it is not a debate,” he said during a morning address.

He added; “It sets out in great details on the works of government, how they will be put in place, and once in place, their functions and responsibilities, this is the constitution, a clique of individuals are walking around mutilating and quoting to of context to support their course,”

He took issue NASA’s push for the formation of the People’s assemblies, saying it is against the constitution.

“It is, therefore, a mockery of the law for some counties to sit and purport to hold an assembly to vote for civil disobedience. In the fullness of time, it is my hope that those MCAs who wasted public resources will be charged for misuse of funds,”

His comments come after some counties allied to the NASA coalition passed motions to form people’s assemblies, which will push for a change the government structure in the country.
