Over 50 families in Mariakani Kilifi County were forced to spend the night in the cold after their houses were demolished by a tycoon who had obtained a court order in the disputed 8-acre piece of land along the Mombasa Nairobi highway.

Residents say the tycoon PN Mashrui flanked by a contingent of armed security officers descended on the houses without serving them with the order that was issued on the 19th of March by the Mombasa court. 

72 year old Mkuzi Baka Magongo says this is the home he has known since his birth and no outsider can claim to own that land they only learned in courts that one of their guests a powerful magician who hard sort accommodation in their home in the year 1972 taking advantage of the friendship colluded with tycoons around to sell the land to PN Madhuri. 

Magongo says they were surprised to see area administration officers ordering them to vacate the land as with bulldozers bringing everything down armed with the order in which even their lawyer had not been served to bear in mind the burden ahead he breaks in tears cutting shot the interview as he appealed on the government to intervene. 

Joha Magongo says land cartels took advantage of the illiterate family during the survey process where one family was awarded the mother title of the land raising suspicion which elders resolved that the land be subdivided amidst the two clans but later they learned that the land was awarded to PN Mashru an Indian tycoon. 

Sada Joha a widow says this is the only land that she has known when she got married here thy hard to clear bushes and set up a home state it's just unfortunate that someone with the assistance of cartels and land officials has taken advantage because the land is prime to vacate them. 

Sada says she has no other place to call home where she will shelter her children and grandchildren all her hard work to cultivate maize has gone to waste with houses being brought down despite her cries nobody has come to her rescue with neighbors salvaging the little they can. 

Mae Mwadena Rabai Kisurutini MCA condemned uthe acts warning that Kilifi leadership will not allow injustices to be committed to innocent residents saying they will look for amicable ways to seek justice and will not allow few individuals who are using the local chief to frustrate locals calling on Cs interior and NLC chairman to intervene. 

Even as the dust settles the tycoon is not leaving any chance for the families to pick anything from the wreckage's already two walls are being constructed under the watch of administration police officers
