Residents of Lamu will now receive free physical fitness classes, Lamu Fitness Initiative Group has said.

According to group chairman Athman Mahazi, many Lamu residents have poor feeding habits, resulting in obesity.

“Many people desire to keep fit. That’s why we are offering free classes,” Mahazi said.

Mahazi said others are overweight but do not know how to shed off the extra weight.

The classes will be open to men, women, and children who wish to lose extra pounds.

Fitness training will take place at Lamu KPA Jetty from 5 am daily. They will be conducted by fitness experts.
