Nakuru County has produced impressive results in the just-released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.St Peters Elite School has produced the top two candidates in the county.Macharia Gathoni and her classmate Muthoni Sharon Kamau scored 447 and 444 marks out of 500 respectively.Girls in the county posted an improved performance in this year’s KCPE results, with 22 of them scoring over 400 marks.35 candidates in the county scored 400 marks and above, with only 13 boys featuring in the list.Moi Primary School Kabarak produced eight candidates who scored over 400 marks. Education CS Fred Matiang'i released the KCPE results on Tuesday at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development in Ngara, Nairobi, 19 days after candidates sat the exam.The marking process was fast-tracked by the use of automated Optical Mark Recognition machines.The CS said no irregularities were reported in the test, adding that all the candidates who sat the exam will receive their results.9,846 out of the 1,003,556 candidates who wrote the exam are set to join national schools after scoring 400 marks and above.
