Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o and his Nandi counterpart Stephen Sang on Saturday pledged to work together to bring peace in the border.

Nyong’o said he is committed to finding solutions that will last to bring peace along the troubled border.

He said the border needs infrastructural investments that can spur togetherness and bring cohesiveness amongst the people.

“What is needed is here is to come up with developments that relate to the people. That we can do as a team of Governors along the border,” he said.

Nyong’o is proposing initiative developments like building schools, building hospitals and other social amenities at the border.

He is convinced that such infrastructural needs will blend well with the people who occasionally have risen into conflict.

Speaking on Friday at Chemelil Sugar Factory in Muhoroni constituency, Governor Nyong’o said his aspiration is to see a united people along the border.

“It is my belief that we can find a lasting peace solution along the border,” he said.

Sang on his part announced his full support to any course that will see the people of Nandi and Kisumu living peacefully as sisters and brothers.

He said that his county administration will not hesitate to join any development that will have impact on the lives of the people living along the border.

“It will be my joy when I see the two communities living as one, this constant war is bad for out coexistence and it slows our growth both socially and economically,” he said.
