Today Taita Taveta county governor Hon. Granton Samboja has held a colourful dinner at Voi Wildlife with county top candidates in the 2017 KCPE.

The best performers who scored over 400 across the county were today accompanied by their parents and teachers to the first event to be held in the county since devolution. Enock Kambale of Mwanyambo Primary School, Voi emerged position one in the county with 436 marks followed by Mwashuke Mjomba from St. Stephen's PCEA, Voi and Cindy Kilonzo Wanyika of Mariwenyi Primary School in Mwatate sub-county with 429 and 427 marks respectively.The county boss was accompanied by his deputy together with county ministers. Several education stakeholders were also in attendance, Voi Equity Bank manager and some representatives from KCB Foundation were also present.Speaking during the event Samboja promised to work tirelessly with the relevant stakeholders to improve the county education sector."As the head of this county it's my mandate to work in cooperation with relevant stakeholders in the education sector to improve and achieve the best," He said.He urged all partners to act as key players in making our boys and girls shine nationally."It is our joy and pride to see these boys and girls shinning nationally, therefore we should play our roles well in the game" he addedOther candidates who scored 400 marks and above include, Trevor Munga - 424, Lorna Njoki - 407, Hope Okumu - 407, David Mwashighadi - 402 and Sarah Favour - 407 of Mwatate Preparatory, Faith Wali - 418 -St. Pauls,Omar Aziza -417 and Nyange Matunda - 413 of Mwatate Juniour Academy,Mwanyalo Msagha - 406 of Mother Teresa,Mackline Mghoi - 410 of Mwavunyu Primary School,Francis Nyawa - 405, Muthusi Mutuku - 401 of Manyani Primary, Trevor Lewa - 407 of St. Agnes,Mwazumbi Mkabili - 426,Nyamawi Kulola - 422,Muthui John - 412 and Borah Lilian - 402 all from Voi St. Jude Academy, Alfred Mwangoma of Ikanga scored 401 marks,Samuel Kifunga from Redeemed Academy -Voi managed 420 marks, Ngowa Kombo of Mkamenyi Primary school - 427, Kagwagwa Collins - 414, Wanaswa Victor - 415, Mwailengo Esther - 405, Karimi Gitonga - 408 and Nduta Mbogo - 407 all from St. Stephen's PCEA, Voi.
