His body was discovered on Monday morning by the shop owner Jane Waithera, who found her shop’s doors wide open, and everything missing.

Molo sub-county OCPD Daniel Kamanza said: “We cannot tell the exact time he was killed, but he must have been brutally murdered tonight. Next to his body we recovered four crude weapons that we suspect were used to kill him”.

“We tried to look for him everywhere only to find his body at a nearby yard. His hands and legs were tightly tied. They stole everything from my shop,” said Waithera.

Another resident who sought anonymity said the deceased had deep cuts in his head.

“They used a sharp object to stab his eyes, and we think he might have known his assailants,” the resident said.

OCPD Kamanza however asked members of the public to volunteer and give any information that will lead to the arrest of the attackers.

“We keep such vital information a secret. The public should also know that security issues involve them too, as well as the police,” he said.

“Few months ago, we found three letters dropped at my shop and two yards that cell timber, telling us to leave this place or they will ‘take one head,” Waithera said.
