NASA leader Raila Odinga has made his opposition allies to lose millions.

The ODM chief’s withdrawal from the October 26 presidential rerun will cost NASA affiliate parties millions of cash from the Political Parties Fund.

The miss on the millions will make it hard for Raila Odinga to fund his ambitious National Resistance Movement.

This rebellion needs hefty funding that made the Political Parties Fund a great addition to opposition finances.

However, Raila will have to dig deeper into his pocket to finance the war against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Raila’s percentage in the just concluded polls makes the parties that backed him ineligible to get the funding.

By law, only political parties with at least five percent of the total vote in the last poll are entitled to public funding.

The sad news comes after his part Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lost a 4.1 billion case against the government.

The money accrued from 2012-2016.

Affiliate parties will continue to be cash-starved if President Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in.

Registrar of Political Parties Lucy Ndung'u said that Sh371.2 million was to be shared this year but Jubilee will be the greatest beneficiaries.

"In fact, we had a discussion in the office and we felt that the criteria are skewed in their favour," Ndung'u told the Star yesterday.
