Outspoken politician Koigi wa Wamwere has hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s words while in Brussels that the law must be followed where the president warned that he would not allow Kenyans to be divided along tribal lines.

“Congratulations Mr. President, you have shown true leadership,” the former Subukia MP said.

The president said those who sought to do so ahead of the 2017 General Election will face the full force of the law.

Koigi told Kenyatta to stand firm on the issue.

Koigi said if he was the President, he would do the following to end hate speech among Kenyans: "Announce negative ethnicity as a national disaster, all coalitions based on tribal lines would be illegalized, jail all politicians and Kenyans who propagate hate speech and restrict such people from vying for political seats”
