Seven Jubilee legislatures led by Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu have accused NASA of using guns found at billionaire’s house, Jimmy Wanjigi, to kill its own supporters. They said that this was a trick to gain sympathy.
Addressing a press conference at parliament buildings, Ngunjiri stated that opposition was out to create a crisis. He criticized Odinga for using people’s blood to get into a coalition government.
“We believe NASA is shooting innocent people in its own strongholds to build antipathy towards the state and the state security officers and thus undermine police capacity for maintaining law and order which works towards creating the crisis and panic NASA needs to create an environment to negotiate for a coalition government,” Ngunjiri said as quoted by the Star.
Ngunjiri also said that NASA demonstrators do not meet the constitutional threshold of a demonstrator. He said that opposition demonstrators are usually armed with crude weapons hence should not be dealt with as peaceful demonstrators.
Others present were, Fatuma Gedi (Wajir woman rep), Catherine Waruguru (Laikipia woman rep), John Kiarie (Dagoretti South), Purity Ngirici (Kirinyaga woman rep), Peter Kihara (Mathioya) and Moses Kirima (Central Imenti).
