Governor Alfred Mutua has asked NASA leaders to keep off Machakos, adding that residents in the county will not buy into their idea for forming people’s assemblies.Mutua said NASA is not welcomed in Machakos, arguing that the opposition is brewing tribal divisions and hatred in the name of people’s assemblies.Speaking to journalists in Machakos Town on Monday, the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party leader asked Machakos MCAs to reject NASA’s people’s assembly motion.Governor Mutua claimed that NASA does not have the interests of the Kenyans at heart and is using all means to destabilise the country’s economy and peace.“I am appealing to Machakos MCAs and residents not to be fooled by NASA’s push for the formation of people’s assemblies because it is a ploy to destabilize the country,” said Mutua.The county boss said the law does not allow the formation of the assemblies. He alleged that NASA's agenda is to incite Kenyans against a duly elected government.The outspoken Governor appealed to Kenyans to support the Jubilee government. He said the opposition is bitter following Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in the October 26 repeat presidential poll."NASA wanted to create a constitutional crisis and that is why Raila Odinga withdrew from the repeat poll but their mission failed miserably with the re-election of Uhuru Kenyatta,” he said.Mutua asked NASA leaders to allow the country to move and stop the political sideshows that are creating anxiety in the country.NASA has vowed to continue its economic boycott and push for the formation of people’s assemblies in the 47 counties.
