Kisumu Central Constituency Development Fund (CDF) donated over 200 iron sheets to a women group whose structures was set on fire during the NASA demonstrations.

The area MP Fred Ouda who took the iron sheets to women condemned police action in the area.

The women who were running a hatchery alleged that police officers battling demonstrators set the hatchery on fire.

The fire burnt down chicken and other valuables before it was put out.

The chairlady of the group Agnes Amadi said the hatchery was supporting a number of families.

“It was a sad day for us when the hatchery was burnt down by the officers,” he said.

Ouda on his part asked the officers to carry out their duties with decorum and stop destroying the economy of the city.

“This is bad, what the officers did must be condemned and should not be entertained. Why destroy the livelihood of our women, some are widows,” he asked.

Ouda said that he will continue to give assistance to his constituents who are bore the brunt of police brutality that left one person dead.
