Former Subukia lawmaker Koigi Wa Wamwere has welcomed Supreme Court ruling validating President Uhuru Kenyatta's disputed October 26 re-election Monday.

Speaking on NTV after the ruling, Koigi who termed the verdict as the end of the prolonged electioneering period as well urged other political players, especially those opposed to the ruling to follow suit.

''Being a strong believer of the rule of law, I was ready to and has accepted the outcome and I urge and hope that the other political players will do the same. We have to accept and move as the nation has stagnated in the same place for so long now,'' he said.

He said that all eyes are now on President Kenyatta saying that Kenyans have high hopes on him with others keenly watching the moves he will take to restore the divided nation.

''The president should now prepare for the uphill task awaiting him ahead. He should be ready to address all the issues raised by all sections of Kenyans upon inauguration,'' said the veteran politician who unsuccessfully vied for the Nakuru senatorial seat in the concluded August 8 general elections.
