A 40-year-old man died Sunday morning after consuming a poisonous concoction at Mukuyu village in Migori County.
The deceased, identified as Kilion Ogutu, passed on at Rongo district hospital where he had been rushed for treatment.
His wife, Gladys Achieng' said she was in church on Saturday evening when she was informed by her daughter that her husband had consumed the poisonous concoction, identified as Triatix (pesticide for killing ticks).
Achieng' said she could not establish the reason why her husband opted to commit suicide.
She said they did not have any form of disagreement before his demise.
According to the family, the deceased, who has been drunk for the past three days, must have committed suicide out of alcohol influence.
The incident was confirmed by Kamkuyu sub location Chief Judith Ojwando.
