MCA's adjourn sessions to participate in CASA games

Members of County Assembly (MCAs) in Uasin Gishu have adjourned their assembly sessions for 13 days to participate in the County Assembly Sports Association (CASA) games.

The week-long inter-assembly games are set to kick off on Sunday in Kiambu county. Uasin Gishu MCA's will however head to Naivasha, Nakuru county, this week, for climate familiarization before joining other county assemblies for the fourth edition of the Casa games.

Teams in various disciplines including football, volleyball, netball, tug-of-war, table tennis, badminton, Ajua, and athletics will represent the county. While moving the adjournment motion on Tuesday, Assembly's Deputy majority chief Whip Gilbert Tenai expressed the need for members to be allowed to participate in the games.

"Almost every member in this house is participating in at least one game and it will good that we join others for this games," said Tenai who is also the Cheptiret/Kipchamo MCA.

Deputy majority leader Jenny Jebet seconded the motion saying, "Eldoret is known all over the world as the city of champions and it will be good that we participate in this games to affirm that indeed we are the city of champions.

"The motion received overwhelming support from MCA's present."As a team manager we need I know that we need to prepare well for the upcoming games and especially the climate familiarization bit is very important as we are determined to win more trophies this time," said Tembelio MCA Pius Kigen.

The Assembly will resume sittings on Tuesday November 28, 2017 at 2.30pm.
