[Photo|Milicent Omanga]Nominated Senator Milicent Omanga, has slammed National Super Alliance (Nasa), after its presidential candidate Raila Odinga, called for the postponement of the final secondary and primary schools examinations.After IEBC set October 17, as the date for fresh presidential election, Raila dismissed it, saying it was a date set by President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party.Nasa said it was not consulted, and demanded that the date be moved to October 24, or 31, saying candidates would not die, if they do examinations, after election is held.Omanga, known as 'Mama Miradi', took a swipe at the Opposition, and warned them against interfering with education matters."Our children must do their national exams. You have no power to change exam dates. Respect our children, they're the brains of our future," said Omanga, who was Nominated to the Senate by Jubilee after losing Nomination ticket to vie for the Nairobi Woman Representative position in the August 8 polls.She was speaking during Jubilee campaign rally at Uhuru Park, September 9, 2017.Her attack came few days after Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, warned Odinga against interfering with the examination calendars as well.The Jubilee Party MP chaired the National Assembly Parliamentary Committee on Education, in the 11th Parliament, when she served as a Nominated MP.
