Mwala MP Engineer Vincent Musyoka has termed NASA's push for creation of People's Assembly as an exercise in futility.
The MP claims that NASA will not go far with the so called People's Assembly they are pushing for.
Addressing residents at Mwala Town on Saturday, Musyoka said that Kenyans will not buy into NASA's idea, claiming that it is being pushed to fulfill the political interests of certain opposition politicians.
The Mwala lawmaker observed that the People's Assembly is not provided for in the constitution and that NASA is engaging itself in illegal activity.
He said that NASA leaders are wasting time advocating for something that is unconstitutional.
"It is ridiculous that NASA leaders are pushing for something that they know is not backed by the law," the MP said on Saturday.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party MP asked NASA to let the country move on.
He said that NASA leaders have refused to concede defeat after their leader Raila Odinga withdrew from the October 26 repeat poll that saw Uhuru Kenyatta declared president elect.
Musyoka asked the Raila Odinga led opposition to wait for 2022 and give Jubilee government ample time to serve Kenyans.
NASA is pushing for creation of People's Assemblies across the country to help push its electoral reforms agenda forward.
The opposition wants fresh presidential election held in 90 days, claiming that the October 26 repeat presidential poll that declared Uhuru Kenyatta winner was shambolic.
