Dennis Muigai Ngengi was arrested on Thursday in Naivasha after questions emerged over his identity when he surfaced at the scene of Wahome Gakuru's accident.

Muigai had given a live interview to Citizen TV saying he witnessed the governor's accident.

Things, however, deepened after he was unmasked as the same guy who had given an interview at Lake Nakuru on October 22 where he claimed the pilot of the chopper that crashed into the lake was his friend.

He claimed he is a state pilot.

Upon being arrested by sleuths on Thursday, he was whisked to Nairobi where it was revealed that he did not witness the governor's accident but rather drove from Utawala, Nairobi, to the scene.

Detectives also said he refused to disclose who he was.

Officers at the criminal investigative unit were forced to take his finger prints in efforts to unravel the mysterious man.
