Nakuru deputy governor Erick Korir has said the county government will boost agriculture in a bid to become self sufficient.

Speaking during the inaugral rehabilitation exercise of the Gioto dumpesite on Wednesday, Korir noted that agriculture was the main mainstay of Nakuru and as such the government will do everything possible to ensure it is promoted.

"Our main focus as a county now is to ensure that we boost agriculute for us to be self sufficient. Nakuru is largely an agricultural area and it would be better if we ensure that that is also realized in action," he said.

The county leadership said they are also committed to revive pyrethrum.
