Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has differed with National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga over the calls for product boycott. According to the Star, the senator said that is unfair for the Prime Minister to ask his supporters to boycott certain products.

He instead asked the veteran politician to ensure that the persons behind the rigging of elections in the country are dealt with according to the law. Speaking during the homecoming party of Mwingi Central MCA Mary Kanini, the legislator said that the call is likely to leave several of the opposition supporters jobless.

“The bigwigs who were involved in the alleged election rigging and other malpractice should be dealt with, not the employees and other beneficiaries,” he said, as quoted by The Star.

The politician said that there are many of Raila’s supporters who are going to end with ways of generating income if they decide to back his boycott calls

“There are so many NASA supporters who will end up jobless as well,” he added.

The senator called upon both President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila to embrace dialogue in order to ensure stability during this period.

Kitui county assembly majority leader Peter Kilonzo reiterated his sentiments saying the move will hurt the economy of this country.
