[Photo| Daily Nation]Kisumu governor Anyang’ Nyong’o and his sister Dr Nyagoy Nyong’o have been sued over inheritance.Nation reports Nyongo's nephews sued him and his sister for leaving out some family members in the list of beneficiaries for his late father’s estate, Shimei Nyong’o, who died without a will. According to the nephews Geoffrey Omondi Nyong’o and Kenneth Odhiambo Okuthe, the governor and his sister were appointed as administrators of the estate.Omobndi, Odhiambo, their mother and other siblings were certified by the chief to be the real beneficiaries.However, the nephews accused the administrators of excluding two of their siblings’ children from the list of beneficiaries.They have moved to court to seek revocation or annulment of the letters of administration and wants an audit done so that every beneficiary gets their share.“We want our late mothers to also have their equal share of the same (estate) like the rest and also the administrators to render books of accounts on how they have managed affairs,” said Omondi as quoted by the local daily. The applicants filed the case under a certificate of urgency because they feared the governor could sell or transfer the estate.Hearing of the application is slated for November 29.
