Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has sent a stern warning to drug barons, saying that their days are numbered.The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP said she will not sit and watch drug dealers ruin the lives of young people.Speaking to journalists at Travelers Beach Hotel in Mombasa on Thursday, Mboko said the drug trade remains a serious challenge facing the constituency and the larger Coast region.“I want to warn drug dealers that their days are numbered if they do not stop the illegal business they are engaging in,” said the vocal MP said.The MP noted that she is working closely with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s government to tame drug barons.Mboko added that she will push to have stiffer penalties prescribed on people engaging in drug trafficking.She urged politicians across Mombasa and the larger Coast region to team up and spearhead the war against drug trafficking and abuse.The ODM MP at the same time warned police officers whom she claimed are allegedly aiding drug traffickers. Mboko claimed that drug traffickers sell drugs to teenagers in the full glare of the police.She accused police of failing to make arrests despite knowing where drug dens in the county are located.
