The Kenya National Parents Association has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to retain Fred Matiang'i in the education docket.

Association's national chairman Nicholas Maiyo says Matiang'i has transformed the education sector since he took over from Jacob Kaimenyi hence need to be allowed to continue with the good work.

Speaking in Eldoret on Wednesday, Maiyo commended the Ministry of Education under the leadership of CS Matiang'i for conducting a malpractice-free Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations.

"We are happy that exams cheating in national examinations is now a thing of the past and our children will now get quality education," said Mr. Maiyo."

"And this is this the main reason as to why we are asking our President that he retains Matiang'i in that Education ministry so that he continues with the transformation agenda," he added.

Matiang'i has been one of the best performing Cabinet Secretaries and is currently also in charge of Ministry of Interior and National Coordination on an acting capacity.

The President is widely expected to make changes to his cabinet once he's sworn in for the second term on office.
