Opposition leader Raila Odinga has slammed President Uhuru Kenyatta for criticizing him about the current political standoff. According to Raila, President Uhuru forced him to go to the Supreme Court after the August polls.

Speaking at Mama Ngina Drive at a rally after his tour of the UK, Odinga said that Uhuru advised him to seek redress in court.

"We had vowed never to complain over the August election but after the results were announced they are the ones who forced us to seek redress in court. We had not intended to do this," Raila said as quoted by the Star.

Odinga lauded Chief Justice Maraga for being courageous enough to surprise the Head of State with a landmark ruling that annulled Uhuru’s win. Raila criticized Uhuru for attacking the judiciary while allegedly drunk.

The NASA presidential candidate announced that peaceful demonstrations against IEBC will continue daily starting Monday 16. He promised to take part in repeat polls only after his irreducible minimums are met.

Raila further questioned the fairness in the October 26 elections after IEBC disobeyed a court order that demanded that opposition be given read only access to the body’s servers. He said that the decision to defile the Supreme Court order has made them stick to their irreducible demands.
