Details on how opposition leader Raila Odinga tricked President Uhuru Kenyatta after the pronouncement of August 8 presidential results have emerged.
Uhuru was declared winner by IEBC to Odinga’s objection, a move that was later on nullified by the Supreme Court of Kenya.
With fresh memories of rejected petition in 2013, Odinga played mind games with Jubilee team by dismissing a court approach.
“He knew that Jubilee team were monitoring him and played mind games. He quickly told James Orengo to dismiss court idea so that NASA could collect evidence,” says a source privy to events at Capitol Hill.
The source adds:”Jubilee obviously thought he will resort to violent means and was surprised that he was calling for peace. He was in the process of filing petition without their knowledge.
To perfect the trick, Senator James Orengo kept on dismissing the court idea, making many government operatives to believe that NASA would not go to court.
At a rally in Narok on Saturday, Orengo confirmed that the team played ‘psychology’ with Jubilee to realize the court victory.
“We were assertive and had to play psychology to safeguard evidence. I am happy it worked.” He said.
