When Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko appeared on Citizen TV on Sunday for a live interview, he dominated the 45-minute show turning it into a shouting match.

But what exactly was Sonko saying? Below are some of the key highlights of what Sonko said during the interview:

"I will do anything to safeguard Uhuru’s presidency. We will not allow anyone to blackmail the president. I am not going to allow goons and land grabbers in Nairobi county. I will also set up a waste management facility in Nairobi. I have already identified partners from Netherlands and US. If elected governor, I will work with owners of parking lots, to build parking buildings. I will not step down for Peter Kenneth.

I am ready to step down for Margaret Wanjiru, Dennis Waweru or any other candidate for Murang’a but not Peter Kenneth. Those planning to steal votes during nominations are those whose politicking has been overtaken by events.

I believe the Jubilee Party nominations will be fair.

I will not leave my president to these power brokers. I will walk with him.

Some powerful leaders wanted to mislead the president in 2013, including a PS Karanja Kibicho.

We will not allow power brokers to blackmail the president into supporting candidates so that they vote for him."
