Education CS Fred Matiang'i released the  2017 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results Tuesday morning.

Candidates who sat for the exam can check their results via SMS by sending their index number through SMS code 22252.

Parents can also get the results by visiting the KNEC portal, www.knec-portal.ac.ke

While releasing the.results, Matiang’i stated that there were no cases of malpractice in the 2017 examinations and the number of students who scored 400 marks and above rose to 9,846 from 5,943 in 2016.

The best canidate had 455 marks out of 500.

In Nakuru, Sharon Muthoni of St Peters Elite Gilgil scored 444 becoming among the top pupils.
