Blow to Uhuru as chief campaigner contemplates bolting out
Former Kisii Senator Chris Obure is said to be keen on a possible walkout from the ruling Jubilee party in few weeks time.
Sources say that Obure, formally ODM chairman Kisii branch, is unhappy with Jubilee’s decision to drop him as favourite Senate speaker choice for Ken Lusaka.
He was instrumental in executing Jubilee agenda in Gusii region that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta score thousands of votes from a region believed to be ODM stronghold.

Uhuru must go slogans locks Kisii town as NASA leaders defend CJ Maraga
Opposition team under the stewardship of Raila Odinga campaigned for the first time since nullification of presidential results in Kisii and Nyamira Counties.
At Kisii town, locals chanted anti-Uhuru slogans forcing Odinga to periodically cut short his speech in several stopovers he made.
Visibly, locals were unhappy with Kenyatta’s recent jibes at the Supreme Court judges under the leadership of David Maraga, who hails from the region.

Election date debate
The October 17th date set by IEBC continued to dominate political rallies by both Jubilee and opposition NASA across the country.
Before his trip to Gusii region, Odinga dismissed the date and gave strict conductions among them radical surgery in the commission for elections to be held.
On his part in Kajiado, President Uhuru Kenyatta maintained that his team is comfortable with the date as set by IEBC and accused his opponents of being fearful.

Key campaign rallies for NASA and Jubilee
Although both sides are yet to release campaign itineraries for Wednesday, it is however clear those strategists from either side are crafting the same ahead of official campaigns.
But opposition NASA is expected to hold Parliamentary Group meeting to come with campaign strategies that will help them win October polls.
Just like recent days, Kenyatta’s camp is expected to make impromptu tours across the country as he stamps authority in key swing regions.

Political realignments
As official campaigns kick off, both winners and losers in many aspects are expected to align themselves to various political camps for presidential elections.
On Tuesday, a number of notable losers from Luhya land joined Jubilee in a ceremony held at State House and presided over by Uhuru Kenyatta.
