CJ Maraga and the team boycotts Uhuru’s joint parliament address

In much unlikely event, Chief Justice David Maraga and his fellow Supreme Court judges boycotted joint parliamentary address by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Uhuru, despite another boycott waged by opposition MPs, defied the political temperatures across all political divides and addressed Jubilee parliamentarians.

Although it is not yet established why the judges skipped the crucial event, analysts say they may have been guided by the rule of law that requires an elected president of that parliament to convene such a sitting.

Counties that NASA is confident of a by-election for governorship

Uhuru’s special message to MPs

President Uhuru Kenyatta challenged Members of Parliament to exercise their powers as confined in the constitutions.

Speaking during the joint parliamentary address on Tuesday, Uhuru urged MPs to represent the interests of people in the house by adhering to the rule of law.

The sitting was boycotted by hundreds of opposition MPs and Supreme Court judges, who are however, yet to reveal why the missed the important occasion.
