Tough-talking Coastal regional coordinator Nelson Marwa has said his success in curbing crime in Indian Ocean towns can be tainted by rising insecurity in his Kuria backyard.

Marwa said it was sad that his home in Ntimaru town, Kuria East is the hotbed of insecurity while he flourishes in Mombasa.

The administrator said it was unfortunate illegal guns, cattle rustling and the general state of insecurity are still rampant.

“I cannot do so well out there when my home is burning and those who are burning are our local community,” Marwa said.

However, Marwa blamed the sub-county officers and the police for continued insecurity in his motherland.

"We want locals, elders, and chiefs to help administrators end insecurity,” Marwa said.
