NASA leaders made triumph entry to Kisii town on Tuesday evening with locals interrupting Raila Odinga’s speech with anti- President Uhuru Kenyatta slogans.
Odinga was making his first trip outside Nairobi following nullification of presidential results by the Supreme Court.
Earlier, similar chants were witnessed in Nyamaiya, Nyamira, Keroka and Daraja Moja junction before main stopover in Kisii town.
Throughout his address, Odinga came into strong defense of Chief Justice David Maraga, who presided over nullification of Uhuru’s victory.
“The President of Supreme Court must be respected and no one can purport to threaten him. He should accept the verdict and move on.
“I hear they will come here soon to apologize but do not allow them at all. This is or territory and you must show them on ballot,” he said.
At some point, Odinga was forced to halt his speech when the crowd demanded that IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba resigns.
He was accompanied by Governors John Nyagarama (Nyamira), James Ongwae (Kisii), and a host of elected leaders from the two counties.
During the August elections, IEBC figures shows that President Uhuru Kenyatta improved tremendously in both counties compared to 2013 polls.
